INNER LAGOON

Shoebury-Wix's tidal inner lagoon provides more than 65 hectare of protected water and is dredged to a depth that maintains navigable access for commercial and leisure craft at all states of the tide.

The inner lagoon boasts a total water frontage of 5.1 kilometres, 2.8km of which bounds eco parkland and beaches that are accessible to the public. In addition there is 2.3km of usable and protected water frontage that may be used for a variety of commercial and leisure purposes such as sailing schools and other water based activities.


THORPE QUAY

Roughly half of Thorpe islands 1km water frontage will be accessible to commercial shipping at all states of the tide. Thorpe Quay will provide an operational base for fast catamaran services and other commercial and leisure water based activities. Deep water frontage is also to be found at East Knox (800m) and West Knox (500m) which may be used for pleasure craft and other leisure activities.
